To all our customers concerned with the consumption of our product Vibrant Life NUT LOAF, we declare: That it is completely safe to consume this product, made with raw peanuts. The outbreak of salmonella detected by the FDA during the month of January , 2009 was caused by peanut butter and peanut paste produced only by the Peanut Corporation of America at its Blakely, Georgia processing plant. The peanuts used in the preparation of Vibrant Life NUTLOAF are purchased from Producers Peanut Co, INC from Suffolk, Virginia, a company in good standing with the FDA. Salmonella is usually found in poultry, eggs, unprocessed milk, and meat and water. In order to destroy the bacteria, products should be cooked at temperatures above 140°F/60°C. In the sterilization process of NUT LOAF, this product is cooked at a temperature of 240°F for 133 minutes. This process has been determined and is controlled by the FDA.
